General Terms and Conditions

Article 1. Presentation

Ronald McDonald House Maastricht (hereinafter “the organization” or “the organizer”) organizes the Campus Run Maastricht (hereinafter “the event”), which will be held in Maastricht on Thursday, October 15, 2026.

Article 2. Acceptance of conditions

These terms and conditions apply in lieu of and prevail over all terms and conditions (whether or not in conflict with these terms and conditions) contained in or referred to in documentation provided by the participant or in correspondence or elsewhere, or implicitly by custom trade, practice, or course of conduct. A variation of these terms and conditions is only valid if the event organizer gives written notice to the participant in any official event material or correspondence prior to the event (including via email); the participant shall be deemed to have accepted this upon completion of the registration form.

By registering for the event, all participants accept the current general terms and conditions and release the organizers from all obligations, claims, actions, or damages that the participant may have against them arising from or in any way connected with participation in this event, including event sponsors, promoters, representatives, successors and assigns, and all other persons associated with the event.

Article 3. Participation

3.1 The participant acknowledges that taking part in the event may be physically demanding. It is acknowledged that participation in the event is physically demanding and that the participant is aware of the nature of the event and the associated medical and physical risks.

3.2 The participant hereby declares that he/she is physically capable of taking part in the event and agrees to be solely responsible for his/her actions; the event organiser, its officers, employees, agents, affiliated companies, associated companies, sponsors or medical advisers shall not be liable for any injury or illness the participant may sustain as a result of his/her participation in the event. The participant accepts that if a medical or physical condition arises prior to the event that is likely to affect his/her ability to participate, the participant shall withdraw in accordance with these terms and conditions.

3.3 The event organiser reserves the right at all times to remove participants from the event or to prevent participants from taking part, if the organiser(s) considers it necessary for safety reasons, to ensure the enjoyment of the event by other participants, or for any other reasonable reason. Registration fees and additional purchases will not be refunded if the participant, through negligence, wilful misconduct or has otherwise acted without the necessary care and consideration for the event or other participants, thereby causing his or her removal. 

3.4 The event organiser will email all communications, including any offers of deferred admission or reserved seats, newsletters before, during and after the event, and other relevant information about events/offers, to the email address provided by the participant on the registration form. The event organiser is not responsible for computer malfunctions or other technical issues that may arise whilst sending such emails, resulting in the participant not receiving this information.  To ensure receipt of all event information, it is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that they provide the event organiser with the correct email address and postal address, and to notify the event organiser of any changes to these details prior to the event. The event organiser will process all changes to the participant’s contact details up to one week before the event. Prior to the event, the event organiser will send an official email containing participant information to the address provided by the participant on the registration form. The event organiser accepts no liability for the failure to deliver the email sent by the event organiser.  Should the participant, for whatever reason, not receive an email regarding the event, it is the participant’s responsibility to contact the event organiser in order to receive the email. 

3.5 Whilst the event organiser takes every care in organising the event, the participant acknowledges that insurance covering personal accidents and personal belongings is their own responsibility. 

3.6 The minimum age for participation is 16 years. Children under the age of 16 are also very welcome to take part, provided they are accompanied by and under the supervision of an adult. Participation with a pushchair is possible. Please note: there are a few steps along the route. 

3.7 All decisions and rulings made by the event organiser, its employees and its agents shall be considered final. Accordingly, the participant shall comply with all instructions and guidelines given by stewards, marshals and safety personnel. The participant acknowledges and agrees that the event organiser is responsible for organising and running the event and is solely authorised to make, and shall be the final arbiter of, all decisions relating to the safety, running and organisation of the event. 

3.8 The participant grants full permission to all the parties mentioned to use photographs, videos, moving images, website images, recordings or other material relating to this event​​​

Article 4. Registration

4.1 To be eligible to participate, the participant must pay the registration fee no later than the established deadline.

4.2 The participant is not eligible for, or entitled to, participate in the event until full payment of the registration fee has been received by the event organizer. No payment shall be deemed to have been received until the event organizer has received the full funds.

Article 6. Categories and results

The organization offers medical assistance to all participants in the event. All participants accept the risks associated with practicing this sport. Furthermore, the participant declares to be in good physical condition for this competition and agrees that this participation is his/her own responsibility. Any participant with health problems is required to report this to the organization in writing in advance, stating their start number: name, address, telephone number, and health problem. The participant is required (for safety reasons) to inform the organization in writing in advance about their condition, together with their start number. Medical services have the right to remove any participant from the race who appears to be in poor physical condition. The athlete is required to complete the medical information field on the back of the start number fully and truthfully.

Article 7. Medical assistance

There are no categories, and no results or prizes will be awarded after the Campusrun Maastricht.

5.1 The organizer(s) are not liable for a refund or any other sanction if the event is cancelled due to force majeure. The organizer will endeavor to find another date for the event to take place. If, for any reason, the participant is unable to participate on the replacement date, no refund of the registration fee will be offered.

5.2 Refund requests due to cancellation of participation must be submitted in writing by email.

5.3 In the event of cancellation of the event, we will endeavor to inform all participants one week prior to the event, although the participant is aware that this is not possible in all cases. All registration fees will not be refunded in the event of cancellation due to force majeure. We accept no liability for any consequential damages and are not liable for reimbursing any other costs that may have been incurred, including transport costs, accommodation, etc.

Article 5. Cancellation or changes

Article 8. Liability

The organization disclaims all liability for the consequences or responsibilities arising from damage, whether material or personal, caused by a participant during the event, by or to participants themselves or other persons. This also applies to third parties causing damage to a participant, volunteer, or employee of the organization.
